Course Description:

Personnel serving as the frontline member of an industrial fire brigade in extinguishing outdoor fires

Goals

To prepare course participants to effectively and safely perform the functions of a member of a fire brigade participating in extinguishing outdoor fires.

Training program:

Content

Day 1

  • Registration and familiarization
  • NFPA 1081 – Fundamentals
  • PPE - testing, use and maintenance
  • Fire theory and fire classification
  • Firefighting practice

Day 2

  • Working with fire hoses
  • Firefighting
  • Introducing Master Streaming
  • Introduction to Closed Circuit Breathing Apparatus (SCBA)
  • SCBA checks

Day 3

  • Correct technique for putting on and taking off breathing apparatus
  • Methods of operation and replacement of cylinders
  • Working with the victim
  • Search work
  • Firefighting practice

Day 4

  • Theoretical introduction to foam and foam equipment
  • Firefighting practice

Day 5

  • Alternative means and methods of fire extinguishing (shut-off valves, boundary isolation, combination of extinguishing means)
  • Fires under pressure
  • Rescue, water supply control, elimination of consequences
  • Firefighting practice
