Course Description:

This program is designed to meet OPITO requirements for initial onshore training and further certification of offshore helideck rescue team members.

Goals

To provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to successfully perform the functions of members of the emergency rescue team at helipads of offshore facilities.

  • State of readiness
  • Helicopter hazards, landing area hazards, evacuation routes and assembly points
  • Helipad equipment, control systems
  • Response plan
  • Equipment checks
  • Preparation and regular testing of breathing apparatus.
  • Emergency rescue operations
  • Teamwork
  • Response to alarm signal
  • Preparation and safe entry into the emergency zone
  • Self-salvation
  • Limiting the consequences of an accident for the structure and integrity of the platform
  • Carrying out fire-fighting actions
  • Carrying out emergency procedures in conditions where there is no source of fire, using the proper equipment
  • Emergency rescue procedures on autonomous platforms (NUI)
  • Practical exercises for HERTM
