Goals
Identification of adverse health effects from exposure to hazardous substances and explanation of control methods to protect against and prevent consequences
Tasks
Upon completion of the course, the student should be able to:
- Explain the possible negative impact of hazardous substances on health when used
- Describe the stages of conducting a risk assessment of substances hazardous to health
- Describe possible control measures to prevent or reduce the risk of using these substances
- Demonstrate practical application of safe work systems, including those involving hazardous substances
- Handle chemical reagents during work
- Determine the physical forms and harmful properties of chemicals and substances
- Recognize different types of markings and understand their meaning
